Leader's Wives
Cherie Blair claims £7,700 for hairdressing costs over the last election period.

Labour spokesperson says, "So what?"

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4929026.stm

a) At £275 per day... she was robbed. I pay £4.50 every six weeks or so, and my hair looks better than *that*.

b) I can't imagine why people get annoyed at politician's and politician's partners' perks, can you?
(Note for Mssrs Blair, Blunket et al... that was sarcasm.)

Wow, most definitely robbed - I thought Labour were supposed to be the working people's party (originally)? That's definitely not a working person's hairdo - in fact, at that price per day, her daiyl hairdo costs more than I earn in a week!

Apparently she has had the same hairdresser - Andre - for ten years and some years ago flew him out to Denver at her own expense to tend to her hair twice a day while she and Tone were at a conference there.

She's supposedly complained in the past about having to meet the expense of acting as the Prime Minister's wife herself.

That whining sound you hear is either a woman with a massively inflated sense of her own importance, or Nye Bevin spinning in his grave. Possibly both.
